Parental Consent Now Required for Student Access to Key Google Services

Starting this school year, students may notice difficulty accessing popular tools like YouTube, Google Translate, Google Maps, Schoology, and Clever. This is due to a policy change by Google requiring reconfirmed parental consent for students under 18 to use additional Google services within education accounts.

According to LAUSD’s HelpDesk Security team, parental consent is now mandatory for access to most district-supported tools. Consent forms will be mailed home and must be completed for students to continue using these services.

Parents are encouraged to watch their mail and respond promptly to ensure uninterrupted access to these important educational tools.
