What is EOP?
The Educational Opportunity Program is an Admissions and Support Services program designed to assist students who meet specific income guidelines and demonstrate the potential to obtain a baccalaureate degree. The program provides: admission to the University. academic and personal counseling.
Why has EOP been created?
Students have the potential and demonstrated motivation to perform satisfactorily at a CSU, but they have not been able to realize their potential because of their economic or educational background. The program provides admission and academic assistance to EOP-eligible undergraduate students.
What is the Criteria for EOP?
What Are the EOP Eligibility Requirements? EOP applicants must be highly motivated, historically low-income (minimum of 10 years within the USA), educationally disadvantaged and first-generation college students (parents have not completed a four-year college degree - siblings do not count)
WHO MAY APPLY?
Only historically low-income and educationally disadvantaged undergraduate students who need admission assistance and support services to succeed in college are admitted to Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). . They must demonstrate academic potential and motivation, be California residents or qualify for an AB540 non-resident tuition exemption and meet the income criteria . To become eligible, applicants should complete the EOP section on the undergraduate application for admission and complete the EOP application.
