Description

The Advocates for Healthy Choices Club (AFHC) is an after-school club that is comprised of student leaders who work to coordinate a campaign to raise awareness among their peers on the harmful effects of tobacco products, specifically e-cigarettes and vaporizers.

Members of AFHC receive training in team-building, communication, project management, and public speaking to empower them to become future leaders who will continue to advocate for their communities.

During the past two years, AFHC members have collaborated with teachers, staff and administration to educate students on the dangers of vaping. The club engages with students and community by conducting classroom presentations, parent presentations, creating and displaying informational posters, tabling at school events and showcasing their campaign at universities.

Members of AFHC are committed to making a difference in their school and community and recognize that they have the power to make positive change.

If you are interested in making a positive change in your school and community while learning skills that will assist you in becoming a future leader contact Ms. Valladarez or Ms. Fowler for more information.
