Welcome

Welcome to our class! I am thrilled to be your teacher this year and to embark on an exciting exploration of the scientific world together. I bring a deep passion for real-world discovery into our classroom.  I have a background as a research scientist at UCSB, where I also earned my B.S, M.Ed, and teaching credential.

My teaching philosophy centers on fostering independent, student-driven learners. In this class, you won't just sit and listen to lectures; you will actively do science through hands-on activities and inquiry-based projects. Our core focus will be on mastering essential 21st-century skills such as: collaboration, complex problem-solving, and sharp critical thinking. Ultimately, my goal is for every student to leave my class feeling genuinely empowered by their education and completely confident in their ability to conquer any challenge they may face in their adult lives.
